1991 phazer II drop bracket??

I recently put a 136 extension and track on my sons 1991 phazer, I put 1.5 inch drop brackets on rear mounts, and i lenghtened out the front limiter strap all the way, but when sled it sitting on cement floor the front of track doesnt sit even with floor, do i need to lower the front mounting holes in tunnel??? seems like i have alot of steering pressure now, I need to lighten front pressure some how???

more than likely dropping the holes for the front arm down about 5/8-3/4" will alleviate some of the problem. you will also need to drop the center crosshaft that supports the track.

all should be done proportionately so as to retain the suspension geometry as it cycles. you may also rethink the amount of drop at the rear.

snowdad4 ,thanks for info, Im going to lower the front bolt holes of rear suspension and also the middle upper idlers about 3 /4 inch, I think that should be enough to make my front of track contact the ground, when I was watching my son ride on level ground today 1/3 of track wasnt even touching ground in front, I would think this is putting excess load on front driver and track. maybe I should just remove rear drop brackets and go back to stock? or is deep snow performance better with more clearance, My son likes the higher ride height though, would really like to get the drop brackets to work.

work on in a bit and you should get it back to where its correct. all your doing with the drops is raising the footboards away from the snow, so if you ride in deeper snow, its to your advantage. trade off without keeping things in check is the heavy steer.

it may be in your favor to read through the thread in this section entitled "phazer skid relocation".

i actually dropped my phazer almost 3" at the rear using a polaris 133 skid relocated back to fit the 136. works well. actually the opposite of yours, not enough ski pressure.

drop brackets

As i stated in previos post i put on 1.5 inch drop bracket and left everything else the same, My front 1/3 of track sits off the ground with heavy steering feel, Last night I relocated the front mount holes 5/8 inch lower and tryed to put bolts in those holes, I cant get suspension in front to drop dowm, I had the track upper idler wheels out and cant get the suspension positoned to get bolts in, I ran out of time last night, I removed the drop brackets put back to stock ,test road sled, alot less steering pressure, I guess Im going to let my son ride it and see what he thinks, I will tear into it this summer and see if I can get things to work.I might just put some heavy springs on rear to reduce sag . Has anyone ever put a taller seat on a phazer II.
