I was going through my 2000 sxr700 and discovered it does not have a thermastat in it, should I be using one or is it ok not to. any info would be great thanks

The 2000 SxR 700 that the girlfreind rides has one, not 100% sure that one is necessary. Seems like with out it coolant may circulate to fast to be cooled effectively in the heat exchangers. Have you had sled for a while or new to you? May have ben removed for a reason?

no thermostat in my 2001 SXR 600.Check the parts fiche on the 700's.

the redhead triples dont use a thermostat, theres a housing on the head but they are empty, the cooling is dictated by the cooler size and hose routing.

Guess I should remove the one thats in there. Thats the way it was when I got it and havent had an issue.
