I have a 2001 700 v-max deluxe thats all stock except for silencer mod which sounds great thanks for the tip....my question is sled takes off great from standing start if rpms are up, if hitting throttle wide open from idle it falls flat on its face whats needed

have you checked the carbs. Mine did this last year cleaned carbs really well and all was ok. The problem can be gas or clutch related.

Is this a recent problem?
Could be many things carb and clutch related, clean your carbs and check your belt condition and height on the secondary.

I have 98 Vmax twin di the same thing and put smaller head gasket and differant jets and now when i ask for the power in the deep snow it does the job.

if its non power valve motor do the reed notch. supposed to fix what your describing. its posted in the tec section on this site. im gonna do it to mine as soon as i quit riding it longenough to let it cool down some.
