OK not so major and kinda funny but after refusing to acknoledge that Yamaha made a 4 stroke sled for the past 2 years, I went and bought a low milage 03 RX1 simply because the price was right.

Heres the dilema part 1 - I am falling hard for the "RXton". I planned to purchase and possibally turbo the sled over the summer for a new toy on the ice but after spending a few miles on it I can't help but consider to sell the Viper and do a few mods to use the 4 banger "heavy wieght" for my trail sled!

Heres the dilema part 2 - I just got the Viper exactly how I wanted it with CPR pipes, HH's, Heel-X secondary, Warrior skid, 136 Ripsaw, Avenger 3's. on and on and on.

My Viper is still faster, lighter, more nimble, and handles better than its new big brother but I am almost willing to overlook all that to start to make the RX my own. There is some sort of mystic with that loooooooong powerband pull and whirl of that awesome exhaust note screaming in my ears.

:4STroke:

What should I do :o|

It's your choice!

I think you should do what you want with your sled choice and please fill me in on where you are picking up on the RPM signal for your Avenger III. Please help me!!!

Get the rear shocks revalved on the RX for your rider weight & style, put a ripsaw track on it, pick up some Simmons, C&A, or Slydog skis, get a 05 seat, get a good clutch kit (may I recommend my own) and start saving money to buy the 05 a-arms and other light weight parts! Setup right the RX-1 will beat the piped Viper, get better mileage, and last WAY longer!

Matt,

I will check my notes, but I can tell you that Mac from Mountain Performance is a great source for Avenger questions!!

Spec,

Sounds real good. Already got a set of Simmons, thinkin of pullin the Warrior skid and Ripsaw from the Vip and long tracking the RX1 with it. Personaly at 6'4" 250lbs I have never really had a problem with the stock "stiff" yammi skids . I will be talking to about your clutching either on this one or I'm sure there is another 4 stroke in my future.

Its the middle of winter & I'm thinking of swapping my sled of choice to a 4 stroke. There has got to be something wrong.
;):D

136" skid making it a "Warrior" will get rid of most the handling issues for the rear skid! If you need any parts or help let me know! I have a few people around your height and weight running our Stage III setup with great results, the best thing is you won't have to buy anymore 2-stroke oil & better gas mileage than your Viper!

Best thing to do, mainly so you can sleep better at night. SHIP THE RX-1 TO ME. LOL Maxdlx

Pending the outcome of tonight's tossing & turning I will strongly consider your option, and I certainly appreciate your kind gesture!

The post was obviously all in fun, but it really cought me offgaurd how much I would really like this sled!

I just picked up a 05 Warrior this season. I figured that I had better hold on to my ol 00 srx with 10,000 miles just in case. After 400 miles on the warrior I think the only action the SRX will see this year will be from a dust rag.
