Hey guys, need some help. The rear of the 2001 sxr600 is suppossed to sit at 24" with no rider on board. I did take out the transfer rods a few years ago and replaced them with MPI straps. Even before the transfer rods were pulled out it sat low. Ive never adjusted the rear skid. Took it out once to replace the track. Need some tips. I did read @BETHEVIPERS post about adjusting it....couldnt wrap my head around it so i thought pics to you guys would help

Hard to tell for sure via pic but it appearsthe mount on top of what your calling middle shock may be tweaked. This is one of those "leverage points" in the suspension where a lil bent comes out to sitting alot lower.

how would i determine this or even fix? isnt that mount welded to the top of the w arm (we are talking about the top of the front rear shock?)

just out of curiosity, where are you coming up with this 24" measurement that its supposed to be. I just went and checked and my Viper sits exactly where yours is right now.

it has always sat a tad lower than other sxr600's. I was reading into it online, couldnt find the page where i had read it. it read something like 24" with no rider, either 21 or 18 under load. maybe its correct, just seems low

I dont see anything bent in any of your pics, not saying there isnt something, just that I'm not seeing it.

I maybe mistaken or my memory is failing me but it seemed to me like the bracket that the top of that shock is mounted to should be rotated like 10 degrees clockwise. I will take a better look at my sleds tomorrow
