New to site. My 03 Viper runs great but too often likes to studder. when does sled wont move, rpm's jump, and only way to get it to stop is to let rpm's fall to an idol. then only matter of minutes till does it again. HELP!!
Sounds like an issue with your TORS. Have you tried to disconnect TORS to see if that is the issue?

. On your carbs u will see 2 wires coming off of it. Unplug them and plug the 2 plugs on ur harness in together.viper44 said:I have not. where do i start?

I HIGHLY recomend you bypass as part of troubleshooting. Tors is often triggered by simple stuff like your throttle cable being to tight. Tors (Throttle OveRide System) in my opinion a valid safety feature. Left dissabled your sled may run away with out you! If you cant figure out whats triggering it than at least put a tether on it!

a video of what it's doing might help

You did plug the 2 wires from the harness back into each other?

Yes, two wires with bullet ends. when problem occurs sled drops to 3000 rpms and hops between/bounces from 3000 to 3100.

The 2 wires with bullet ends FROM the carbs will plug back into each other which does nothing as well as the 2 wires with bullet ends FROM harness will plug back into each other which bypasses tors.

Harness wires are together. Power valves clean, carbs clean.Dont know what else to do.

Sure does sound like TORS. Even a couple of pics showing how you by-passed will help us out.

Possible rub threw/break/weak point in TORS circuit in harness?....Kind of reaching there......

Might not be much of a reach. I was thinking the same thing. if its bypassed correct there could be a break in the wires that intermittently acts like the switch on the carb being open

I did not get much time to look today. I will try and get some pics soon. I hate computers, bare with me. ther is two wires from top center of carbs heading/connecting under coolant line to top of heads. both are bullet type connectors. After unplugging the two, the two ends coming from the throttle are now connected, male female.Sometimes the problem occurs 0-20mph or 20-whatever. It only happens when u want to REALLY GO. Only aftermarket is a Bender clutch cit otherwise she's stock. Im ready to tree the b@#ch! Thanks for the help couple, more days of this and the wallets gonna have to come out!!! IT never does it sitting there at an idol.
