on clutch side 5000 miles 2002 vmax 700 thought I would get more miles than that had carbs cleaned last year only ran twice any suggestions on rebuild love sled had now for 7 years lots of snow need to get her going just my luck
 
cleaning the carbs last year is not going to cut it. Clean them at the start of every year or risk this.

X2^^^^ gotta clean em' every year. The fuel sucks these days.
 
X3....to be honest if life gets in the way of my sledding for more than a month or so I take a quick trip threw the carbs before getting back to sledding. Burn downs get pricey. Have you torn into motor? GFs redhead burnt down due to float needle issue. Was very mild seize. I would recomend complete tear down, flush the cases out inspect crank and reassemble. I CRINGE when I hear of guys swapping out a jug and piston......and HOPE the cranks OK and no chunks are floating around down there.
