Listen to sideshowbob on this oil thing. Oil has nothing to do with your lean burn down. Sitting on the trottle with the needles in position 3 riding 30-50 mph with marginal gas all day burned it down. I drive this home to my wife and daughter that you have to very your throttle positon and speed. Evenn a blip of the throttle will give it a shot of gas to help cool pistons. Even though you run 91 octain you need to run 93 if you can and a shot of octain boost for good measure. Todays gas is the worst. You are doing all the right things you just need to move the needles to 4th groove and for your wife who likes to cruze i would even go as far as one shim on top and one below instead of both on top for needles. That is what i did for my wifes. The daughter and i are on the gas a lot more. These vipers are bullet proof we just have to learn to adapt to todays gas. Remember these sleds are 10 years old now with 10 year old technology. Remember gas cools the piston not the oil for the most part.

I am def raising the needles!! They reason they were concerned about the oil issue was because the piston is scuffed up pretty bad all the way around it, the gas was either 91 or 93 octane, it was the best they have at the pump, just can't remember what number it was and it said ethonal free. But if it was a oil issue you would think it would be all 3 cylinders cause the oil is mixed in the oil pump correct?super1c said:Listen to sideshowbob on this oil thing.
