Viper with pipes people have problems ??

I understand the allure of the added horsepower and wicked sound of pipes on Vipers.But is it just me these cause tons of issues for Viper owners.I have read of issues of things melting,fitment problems,fuel mileage out the door issues,and even engine failures.I have a bone stock Viper with 5500km on it and do my maintenance regularly and so far not one issue.It seems that once these sleds are modded they require a constant babysitter.Was out yesterday with some friends for a ride and we played in a field racing for a bit one had 1999 670 mxz ho other 1995 800 zrt and other 500 efi polaris.Depending on how I launched I could hang with the zrt across the field but I'm sure a lake would be a different story.The 670 launched awesome but I could always catch him and the 500 polaris no comment needed..lol .I guess I'm just just getting old and would rather spend a good day with friend instead of wrenching all day in pursuit of missile that is really a time bomb....have a great guys :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow

Are you saying I can get the get up and go as pipes with clutching?

I know all sleds will take to things a little differently
But What's the best all around clutch setup aggressive trail riding for the vipers?

It will work, but you are going to have to do some tuning. It also doesn't say which angle helix comes with the kit. I'm not sure if they have one already picked out or if they leave that up to you..maybe someone thats bought the kit can chime in. I just purchased a helix & secondary spring from them and left my primary alone.

Did you get the 53/43 helix and green spring?
 
One thing, if you put Heelclickers on a Viper without the torque arm, you will surely rip the engine mounts. So before you install it, put in a torque arm.
 
Last night a friend of mine offer me a bender helix too try its a 53/43....so for 10 minutes to swap it out I may give it a try.My clutching is bone stock.Should I try this helix with my red spring at 70 wrap?? or is it a waste my time?? really not looking to spend hours playing with clutching as I stated in my others post this sled has treated me very well and don't want to jinx myself....lol :letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow

For me the best trail set up was with the first gen heel clickers. Run red prim spring. Add as much weight to the shoulder as you can, 4-5 small washers , middle empty, 4.5g to the tip . Silver sec spring @80. I ran a roller sec 41\37 helix. On off throttle this set up rips hard ! Ran alot of other clutch kits and always liked the way the clickers had that explosive throttle responce . Holeshot to about 80 is awesome. Rollers shift up faster so a 48\40 would work very well also, enjoy !

I did go with the green spring, but I went with a 51/45 helix because of my track length.
