Some like em, some dont. Its all what fits the best in your hands and how it points. I dont like the grip angle. I own a Beretta PX4 storm and love it.

Glocks are great but they dont have a conventional safety (or at least the ones I've shot).

My favs in 9mm are the Sig p226 and Beretta. For a 45 ACP, I like just about any 1911 frame, they shoot nice.

I second the storm. Have one in .40 and love it. But, glock is a great weapon and you won't be disappointed. As far as caliber is concerned, .45 is the way to go between the two you're interested in. PLENTY of stopping power and the ammo is cheaper.

I would agree with Motorhead. Some like em' some don't. I don't care for the grip angle. Got a Sig 250 d/a 9mm and picking up a Sig 2022 d/a-s/a .40 soon. Great guns and they're right down the road from me. Glocks are great guns though, just gotta test drive em'.

I agree with motorhead also. Its about how comfortable they are in your hands. I have fired both of the models that your considering. Both are nice and have plenty of stopping power but, have larger frames. If you have big hands than they will fit your hand. For a guy, I have smaller hands so I really didn't care for them. I love my hi-cap model 19 however. Also like the .40 in the sig.
thats my problem with them...i hate the grip and angle...however, they are very good and reliable guns.motorhead327 said:Some like em, some dont. Its all what fits the best in your hands and how it points. I dont like the grip angle. I own a Beretta PX4 storm and love it.

Glocks are reliable and good priced, and if you are a firefighter, paramedic, emt, or police officer they have what is called the blue label discount, I think it takes the price down to $400.00 before taxes and such. Personally, I have a Rock Island Armory 1911 .45 and I love it. not sure about as a CCW tho, as I cannot due that. 1911's in .45 are a tride and true design proven by time. My RIA .45 ended up being $535.00 out the door too, so not a bad price.

As a firearm instructor for 15 years. I will say the glocks are very well made and reliable. However, be VERY careful when cleaning. It requires you pull the trigger to break it down. Every Police agency arrmory I 've been in who carries Glocks has atleast one hole in the wall or counter. From someone reversing the take down order and discharging the weapon with a round in the chamber during disassembly. Great gun Just be careful.

I have a Glock Model 27 .40S&W - Its nice and compact.
Have pumped lots of rounds through it and never an issue.
My favorite (currently) is a Springfield Armory Ultra Compact V10 .45ACP. This guns fit and finish is sooo nice. Best felling grip I have felt.
You really cant go wrong with the Glock. They are proven. Just hope the gov allows these going forward. Scary times.

I currently Have a Glock 26 (CCW) and am looking at one for the home... They say the ballistic's on the 10mm is ASTOUNDING and,, although it's $32 a box for range bullets,, I probably will just take the 26 to the range cause 9mm is $16 a box....I have shot the Glock 20 SF ( range) and DID LIKE the way it performed but NEVER shot any 45's, so I don't know how that pistol reacts.. I hear that you can get the barrel compensated to allow for a milder KICK,,, Maybe a thought for my wife,,, but,,,,I kinda like the BANG from the 10MM....
STILL ON THE FENCE !!!!

The saying also goes, shoot as big as you can handle... I'm good with my XDM 40... Looking at a Ruger SR9 as a concealed carry weapon. Probably the dame for the wife(9mm). I heard about a wicked hand gun called a FNH 5.7, really accurate but really lethal rounds. Fast and powerful like a .223.
Yeah you can have guns ported to Gary, heard it really helps the manners and accuracy.

Puts the kick backward into your hand instead of kicking the revolver up. Don't own one, just would like to.

I just realised that the 9x21 round is a different way to call it a 9mm.nosboy said:9mm is $16 a box
Yea.....I know a bit about Glocks.....

Basically what some of us call a Gen 3 1/2. Weren't made all that long. If you can find one, get one. They don't come around all that often. Took me several months to locate one.
REALLY aggressive grip texture. Almost like Velcro in your hand. 250 rounds downrange in one sitting will start to tear up your hand if you're not careful.
This is the "if you could only have ONE" gun.
I have other pistols but I rarely shoot them. It's my go-to gun. It sits next to my bed, and it comes with me when I go someplace.
I thought about 10mm and 45acp, and even ordered a 45 in od at one time, but it was discontinued and never thankfully showed up.
The 10mm, and 45acp are the large frame Glocks. To me the double stack grip feels like a 2x4. (However you could always get the SF version in the 45~smaller grip and single stack mag)
I like the 10mm, but hate the grip.(ALL other Glocks besides the 10mm & 45acp have the same grip)
.40 and the 10mm are the same projectile.....I like to the think of a 10mm as a .40 magnum. With the 10mm all you are getting is more powder for more get up and go, but IMHO not enough to justify it.....or the HUGE pain in the *** trying to find ammo, and extra expense to buy it.
.40 is plentiful, affordable, and again IMHO the perfect compromise in a round.
Check into the what Glock calls "compact" models. Like the G23.(.40).
They are not compact at all and are big enough for a service pistol, and conceal well.
They are only a half inch shorter barrel, and the grip is a touch smaller(11 vs 13 rds in full capacity)
I truly believe that the G23 is the perfect sidearm. Affordable, Reliable, lightweight, good power, good mag capacity, good size, accessories up the wazoo.....it has just about everything.....except a manual safety.
That is what sits on top of your neck. ;-)
You can always Israeli carry too. It's what I do.
Of course, you have to be the judge. Fondle everything you can get your hands on, and possibly shoot them.
Hope this helps.
If you need any more help, just let me know. There's not much I don't know about Glocks.....

Thanks everybody.. I went and rented a Glock 20 (10mm) and a Glock 21 ( 45acp),, I shot a box of 50 through the 10mm and then I loaded up the Glock 21 with 45 auto bullets... The 45 was a lot milder of a kick than the 10mm and the gun was all over the place.. It kinda felt heavier ( nose heavier), and like i said,, was all over the place.. I DID LIKE the size of HOLES it left in the target,, but,, the 10mm was a HANDS DOWN FAVORITE for me... They say the ballistics of that 10mm is like a 357 magnum and it travels around 1100 feet per second, compared to the 45 which travels at 800 fps....The bullets are 32.00 a box compared to 20.00 a box for 45acp... but.. I suppose with the NO SNOW CONDITIONS,, I'll spend my monies elsewhere than snowmobiling THIS SEASON..... Needless to say,, I bought the Glock 20 for 575 plus tax.... 611 out the door.. I'll have it FRIDAY NIGHT !!!!! THANKS FOR THE EDUCATION>>>>>>>> !!!
Can I compensate it MYSELF???? Is there drawings anywheres????
