Not much difference in .40 to 10mm in speed.
For example.....I have some Remington UMC JHP in 180gr in .40. 990 fps. Same round in 10mm is 1150fps.
+1 on the compensated barrels though. Suck in low, or no light.
Make sure you ONLY use jacketed bullets in your Glocks though.....
Hope you enjoy your Glock Perfection!!!

I really like it. They are easy to handle and easy to clean.

That's what all my pistols are. Not much difference from your 10mm. Frame size(on a GLock anyway) is larger, The 10mm just has more oopmh.
Interesting history of the round. Check it out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.40_S&W
I heard something about those 40's with the kaBoom thing... it has to gap some .147 airspace and sometimes blow the gun apart.. I didn't like that feature of the 40's.. that's why i went with the longer 10mm cartridge.!!! I also was impressed on how the gun FELT compared to the 45acp... You learn a LOT at the gun range ( you HAVE TO go to the range in chicago) by firing different rental pistols... Like I said before,, a BOX of 45acp's are 21.00 and a box of 10mm ALUMINIUM TOTAL METAL JACKET are 32.99 a box and I've heard that the BRASS BULLETS are even MORE EXPENSIVE.. I also bought a box of JACKETED HOLLOW POINT in case of a ZOMBIE ATTACK and TWENTY bullets were around 35.00... So,, you see,, I better find some PAYING HOBBY to afford this hobby !!!!!
Good Reading Btw !!!! Thanks !!!!
The .40 is an angry little round that runs a fairly high pressure, but the only time you'll ever get a KB.....in ANY round is in a reload that is overcharged.
Never heard of an off the shelf round going KB.
Wish we had an indoor range around here. Shooting out in the cold and snow sucks.

The bad thing about an indoor range is,, it costs a HUNDRED BUCKS everytime I go !!!! Thanks again....

Good deal! What action did you get? I had to wait 6 months for mine at the time to get the type G .40 with no safety and Beretta was filling L.E. and Military orders first. But it was well worth it!!
Picked up the GLOCK 20 yesterday.. It looks like I will be SLEEPING with this bad boy !!!
