Broken exhaust...

On a ride last night, and my exhaust sudden got louder, alot louder. I stopped, flipped open the hood and saw that one of my stingers lost it's tail pipe, not the whole can, just the end pipe. I found the pipe in the bottom of the side belly pan. I cooled it off threw it in the trunk and went home. I pulled the exhaust off today and the whole stinger is missing it's insides. These are either Hauck or Simons CPRs, I'm not sure, because they are older and have no markings on them. But they look like CPRs with the curly mag pipe. What should I do? Does anybody know if you can get just a stinger?
 
Might be able to make you replacement parts.... you may need to disassemble one of the others to make it match..
 
So I would send you the bad one and one of the good ones? I was thinking about repacking or getting them repacked anyways, do you do that too? Maybe I would just send all three stingers to you. Let me know. I have been thinking about getting them ceramic coated, but wanted to get them repacked first. I noticed that this stinger had been repaired before.
 
Yeah you can send them to me to repair if you want... I can repack them too. If you want them ceramic coated you may want to talk to amatosrx(pete) and ask him if he does ceramic, I know he powder coats, and if he does, I can send the silencers to him when I'm done and he can coat them or I have other powder coat sources locally, I would just have to check the pricing and turn around time with the local sources..
 
Do you have a price in mind for the repair & repacking? You can PM me it you'd like. I will ask amatosrx about the ceramic coating. I have a couple places here I can use too, that are about 10 or 15 minutes from my house.
 
Right at the moment I have no idea of what to charge as I have not seen what needs to happen to restore your broken/damaged silencer. I did search a little bit on the internet for silencer repacking kits. Unsure if I can stretch one repack kit in to repacking 3 silencers or if I will need to purchase 2 kits to cover all 3...

Some pictures of the repair..
The first picture is the disassembled mangled silencer. Just as visual of what needed to happen.

Pic #2 is the inlet side of the silencer and the perforated tube reminants were already removed and cleaned up and awaiting new perforated tube to be installed.

Pic #3 is the newly fabricated (or in process) silencer core tube.

Pic #4 is the silencer core tube installed inside the reassembled silencer body.

Pic#5 is all of the silencer parts/components repaired/assembled and ready to install the packing in the silencer.

Pic #6 Packing installed.

Picture#7 Job complete. Ready to ship back to its owner to reinstall and enjoy!

This sled should be ALOT quieter than it was, as the silencers had a pretty good ring(literally sounded likea bell) to them when disassembling them, after the packing was installed they had a definite difference in sound and not as pingy or ringy sounding when handling.

Awesome!!! I can hardly wait to hear what it sounds like now! I've figured that they have needed to be repacked for awhile now. I might add that the price was very reasonable. Thanks!

Thanks guys. Call me goofy but I enjoy doing work like this, plus its cool when you have Ideas in your noggin and make them reality and turn peoples heads, along with "hey check that out". It just seems that for me, I can't find the time(or funds) to build my own custom stuff, I guess the "finer things" take precidence.

Sleddin, the inners of that sliencer was non existant for awhile. Plus you may gain some performance as there will not be as much turbulance in your silencers. No more ear plugs needed to load on the trailer. ;)! :WayCool:
