sounds logical to me. that's a nice sled.
yeh the story i got about the M10/new track when i asked where the factory suspension is, he told me they bought it new and put it in there old viper and then they bought this this sled so they swapped the suspension and track then sold the other one, so theres prolly more to it....
Its a 04 I have the same sled and my vin is the same you go by the month it was built in fifth month and up considered new model year same as a automobile.

if u look u can see that the foot gripping/ tunnel bracing or whatever it is called is over the sticker

They WOULD HAVE NEVER COVERED THAT STICKER FROM THE FACTORY.

Isn't the 5/02 the manufacture date to be sold in the fall of 02 as an 03 model? Seems like back end of the 04 S was damaged and they put the 03 tunnel and suspension in making it now an 03 since that is where the VIN is.

Yep tunnels been changed vin plate being covered up is a dead give away still a 04 sled wise but insurance wise 03damadman said:
my 04 viper s has 07 03 stamped on it, makes sense, built in the summer of 03 for 04 model year. Maybe you have one of the first ones built for the press and spring shows of 2003, using a tunnel pressed in 02. It looks too good in the pictures to be a swap. My M-10 brace also covers part of the serial number.
