I bought this secondary off of ebay. I have looked through my manual and cant find a turquoise secondary spring anywhere on the list. I am also having issues with my primary. The sled seems to be engaging way to high and when I had it out the other day it seemed to be maxing out between 80 and 85 mph. The tach also seems to be maxing out. I do not know much about clutching, all I do know is that I took the primary apart and did a good cleaning. Both the primary and secondary were supposed to have come off of a 700.

Thats a oe green do u have a tall spring with short cover? That would cause the high engagement. But other than that need more info on setup

Check your twist angle you installed the helix at, you should be in hole1-6 giving you 70* of twist.

If your sled is stock a green spring is the correct spring for a 97 vmax 700, unless your running high altitudes then a red spring can help

I don't know much about them. Which is a tall and which is a short cover? This is the one I have.

Hard to tell from the camera angle but it appears to be a tall cover

Your springs should be correct for that clutch, the faces off the clutch look a bit dirty, did you try scuffing them up with a scotch bright or some 320grit sand paper??

Nope, just never got it cleaned up after taking the motor apart to check bearings. What RPM is the clutch supposed to engage at (start to move the sled)?
