Bad Bad News 2000SRX 700

Understood and valid point. Would agree more if I was selling parts and shipping. Avoiding the face to face interaction.

Off topic but when 75%of your posts are about the sled you are selling......... Not in any way shape or form suggesting you are or have any intention of ripping any one of but theres ben more than a few people join make a few bad sales and then disappear. This what spurred the VIP to run adds in classified. I only speak for myself but when I am buying I would pay more for something from a member thats ben around for a while with track record of good transactions than some one that just joined and has no history good or bad.

And we dont need people playing backseat Moderator either. As a matter of fact it is in the site rules. If you see a post like that flag it and we will take care of it.

find the best local sled mechanic...ask around

Between this site and ebay, kijiji etc, im sure you can source what you need for a grand like they are saying.... If you can find a garage to use and a buddy who knows his way around a motor, few beers and save even more $$$

If the sled is worth fixing, low miles, no rust, excellent shape etc, you'll regret getting rid of it

Good feedback for you here . . .

Either find a good used engine, or rebuild it yourself. You should be able to do either one for around $1000. You will likely have just a reliable motor as if this dealer did it. The extra money does not make the engine any better, it just lightens your wallet.

Another option may be to send it to someone on here and have them rebuild it for you. That would likely cost a little more, but nowhere near $3500.

If the dealer is charging $3500, I am skeptical on whether or not he is actually doing the rebuild or sending it out. If he is doing it, it sure doesn't sound he is very familiar with that engine.

You can rebuild them on your kitchen table, but the garage is better. You don't need much to do it. Lots of guys on here can help out.

Note: Be very sure that you found the root cause. Rebuilding them twice is even more of a bummer.
