I Just purchased a 2000 sxr 700.
I have been going thru the sled trying to get it ready and noticed that 1 of the lines off the fuel pump was not routed under the protector and is now almost worn thru. it doesn't feel like a regular fuel line and looks like it is routed down by the oil pump. What is this for? and could i replace it with just normal fuel line?

that is your oil line feeding the fuel pump and in turn your engine. I prefer to use the correct line but thats just me.
So does this line feed oil to the fuel pump or fuel to the oil pump. When I pulled it off gas came out of it. Just never seen the oil pump connected to the fuel pump before.

The oil is mixed with the gas at the fuel pump. Gas will come out when you pull that off, since the gas is still hooked up.

When you replace that line make sure you have the little check valve pointed in the right direction. Should be a arrow on it. Want the arrow pointed toward the fuel pump. I put mine on backwards
last year and this year when i rode it popped off and popped a piston. OOPPsss.
