so was wondering what kind of setup you guys have in your sx or vipers with a poo or skidoo or vector rear suspensions.? Lot of preload on front shock on rear suspension? Lots of preload on front? Less weight transfer?? Now condtions are not suberb here so hard to get a good feel but I still have a good push in corners. Last time I played with it I puta little more preload in front shocks and adjusted back for less weight transfer. Front shock on rear suspension has quite a bitof preload on it, I might add I have a 05 vector rear skid in my sx. Love the smooth ride but just cant seem to get that riding on rails feeling I used to have on my other sx. Is this just a tradeoff of having the vector skid?? Just wondering what some of you guys have done that have different skids. Im about 225 by the way. Ok with gear probaby more like 240. Any help would be great...

probably should add that I have nytro skis and a sorta homemade dual runner skag. Also have pics up middle. How many well i dont know. Their a double pic style. 3 in one rib and two in other if that makes sense. Was thinking that is part of issue, Kinda was thinking of pulling them out since I hate studs but does hook up nice. What do you all think

I'd start by loosening up the pre-load. Have a look at BTV's suspension tips.

I run 0 pre-load on my Viper skidded SRX.

Just curious - why do you hate studs?

Just worry about them pulling out and wrecking a heat exchanger. Have heard of that more than a few times. These are the double studs so they have a plate on lug side Of track. Seem to be holding up. Other reason is i like sliding in and out of the corners think its a hoot. No I dont do it on groomed trails. Just think a sled is more fun without. But willing to try something new so I will give them a chance. Any other input on setups

Its realy hard to tell you witch way to go...not knowing were things are at but for steering pulling up the limiters will give you more ski pressure and less transfer, you need to find a balance between front shock spring preloads and the centre shock limiter settings. With the sled on a flat surface see how mutch track is on the ground and how heavy you can make it steer with springs and limiter settings.

You should be able to ride anyway you want on snow with picks. They only ever do anything on ice.

.

I long traveled my srx in the back only and never got it to handle. And put the low back in. I think the front needs to be long traveled in order to be leveled back up.

Yeah i put some skidoo springs on front viper shocks. definetly made a difference. So I have good travel up front and like how it rides Was thinking same thing on limiter straps. will be riding tonight and conditions should be good so get a better gauge of things. If still have a bad push i will try straps
