Yes I have checked the TORS at the switch also and its working as it should and
I have slack in the throttle cable. Checked battery.....it tests over 12 volts! Yes I could unplug the grips etc......just another bit of info, I have also bought another CD box ....no difference......I must be missing something or maybe its the Kimpex stator! I have just purchased a Yamaha Stator but it will be a few days until it arrives. I have also ordered a needle an seat for the PTO carb as that appears to be wet with fuel....although that is the cylinder with the larger main jet (factory)so it will run richer!

Ok. Then I cant stop over after work and help you
possibly the crank seal? check and see if it sucking air by spraying ether behind the clutch. sounds like you covered everything else.

I don't think its the crank seal as plugs all look fine except the PTO which is rich and a bad crank seal would produce a lean condition not rich!......although previously I did perform that spray test without any results. Thanks to all for the suggestions though....They are all much appreciated!

I am waiting for my New Yamaha Stator to arrive as I did another resistance test and the New Kimpex Stator failed 2nd source coil test in the manual, using the brown and brown/red wires......starting to wonder if there is some existing condition that is causing the stator to blow???

I havent encountered that with him.. I know him because I am good freinds with his girlfriends family and get together at functions and things.. I have gotten parts and advice from him with no problems.. He does know his Yamahas very very well and I suppose he could have short temper but he may tolerate me because I know the family well...lol.... I ride with his brother once in awhile and he is cool..

Hi Cam; Yes Thanks, I have phoned Tony as I am rechecking things for the third time now!!! He has not called back yet but I just phoned him yesterday.
I am now wondering if the battery or voltage regulator can cause such issues??? ......or what are the odds that I have 2 bad CD Boxes?? They are both used.

Tony usually rides on weekends and doesnt return calls till the week.. I have run my venture with a completly dead battery(it froze) and I didnt encounter any problems. Do a load test on the battery and check, not sure what a voltage regulator would do but you can check if it is faulty.. It is possible to have 2 bad cdi boxes but sounds like I would check coils, reeds, stator, stuff like that and eliminate the easiest possibilities first.. Like I said if you need a hand pm me and maybe get her purring in no time..

Just wanted to add that I pulled the throttle paddle assembly off a running Yamaha just to rule out the TORS switch on the throttle paddle.....No Difference!
you say its breaking up at higher rpm,..... does it still reach peak rpm?

Any TY members by you that can donate a carb rack to try real quick? Then you can completely rule out fuel/air issue.
