2000 sxr 700. weird bogging.. please help

Please help me pin this down. I have cleaned carbs twice already since November. Not sure if carb related or not. This is my first season cleaning carbs so maybe I messed up. Anyways. Sled has been running great. Lots of power.. runs good. But every now and then if I pin the throttle fast iror just give a lot of gas say to hit a small jump the sleds makes the same burping noise as if the tors was activated. Same exact noise. But my tors is unplugged. This only does this if I hit throttle real hard and fast. After engine makes this tors type burping it stops and rides fine. If I give gas slowly it runs great. Its only if I give too much gas at once and it only acts up every now and then. Im assuming this is carb related?? If so, what am I missing cleaning? Carbs looked great. If not carbs what else? Could it be gas filter? I have no idea how old filter is nor where located.. sled has 2700 miles on it.. thanks
 
oh, when i say burping sounds like when tors plugged in, i mean that limp mode sound...its hard to explain the noise...engine dies down..then goes back normal.... only when i slam the throttle hard..like it gets too much gas too fast... doesnt always do it though..
 
thanks nytrodave... like i said, this is my first year doing all this... i remember setting fuel screws to stock setting, which i beleive off top of head was 1.5 turns.. i then turned them either 1/4 more 1/2 more..i forget..should i just turn it back to stock?
 
Did you turn them out or in? My SXR had a bog with them set at 1.5 and turned them out to 1 7/8 and solved the problem.
 
I would turn them in until they are gently seated and then back them out to whatever you are going to try. That way you will be sure they are all the same.
 
would the fuel screws being too far out make my issue? i dont want to blow my sled.. what else would cause it to bog or limp for a second when you slam throttle hard?
 
Id personally bring them out another 1/4 turn, set them at 2 turns out. You're not going to hurt the sled by turning them out as it makes it richer not leaner. Id also make sure all your pilot jets are 100% clean.

x2^^^^^ Also, make sure your carb/airbox boots are sealed against the carbs.
