I am gonna take my 99 vmax 700 and see what it will do on 1000ft radar. I am. gonna put some pics in it. It has a good 8df 51/43 set up now with 23-40 gears. I can not change gears do to the rev kit I put in had a 40tooth bottom. Sled is all stock exhaust head gaskets and no reed spacers. Should I try a 8ca setup for speed run? Thinking about going with a 8ca 4.5 3.1 tip with 51-43. Should I be running 15.6mm or 14.5mm rollors for best result? Any speed run setup would be great.
I have the 600 version of your sled and the 8ca 52/43 setup, 96 sstuds down the middle and ran 97 mph on ice in a 1000 ft from a dead stop. Temp was in the 40's that day so the temp held it back. A dude with a heavily worked over SRX only diid 91 mph that dsy andd offered to buy my seld. When I said no he offered to pay me to tell him how I set it up. Again I said no. Man, the guy got really pissed so I ditected him to this site and told him to start reading and asking questions.
How tight a wrap u running?
I would really like to see 100+
I don't remember but, for trail riding I have it wrapped at 70 degrees. I am going to go to a little heavier secondary spring if we ever get any snow to ride on to see if it will shift a little better for tight trails.
you would be amazed at the speed that these sleds have all bound-up in the way they are put together. I took the jack and drive shafts out and had them straightened as they are not perfect from the factory. I had the drivers put back on the drive shaft and then turned true to the drive shaft. Took the idler and track tensioning wheels out, froze them and had them turned true. When I put everything back together I aligned the shafts and rear suspension to the bulk head. Just by doing these things and then resetting the toe on the ski's I picked up about 7 mph.

I wish i knew how you did it too! my piped 97 sx could only get 97 mph in 1000 ft. My buds 2000 sxr got 98 mph in same day radar run. but ive long traveled it and put a big ole heavy track on er.but still ,if you can get that outa ve a 600, Id be taking it to where the money's at!Mills said:I have the 600 version of your sled and the 8ca 52/43 setup, 96 sstuds down the middle and ran 97 mph on ice in a 1000 ft from a dead stop. Like mills said, blueprint the chassis, I did it with my bone stock 97 500, It took me 12 hrs to do everything, but, I run radar runs with it and my best speed was 98.5 in 1000', I also test, test, test and write EVERYTHING down so you know what you have already tried, saves on gas and time. good luck
