I wouldn't worry about bigger carbs unless you are going full mod. A single pipe, Boyesen reeds, jet it according to the pipe spec,s and some clutching and you will have a little screammer with over 70 hp that will be reliable for alongtime.
sadly enough at 9000 feet you need all the air you can get and still not getting 70 horse =( . but i love it so i have to try.
Piped, ported, reeds, thin head gasket (or head mods), 38's, and pod filters made for a screaming little sled. Was good for about 80 - 85 hp and was pretty reliable. Had a hard time keeping a recoil rope in it, but eventually solved that problem with some cable. Needed a little 110 with each tank to keep from rattling the pistons, but at 9000+ you might get by on good pump premium. Have fun. Wish I would have kept mine to play with.
