trying to make ajig for cable ends

want to find some aluminum the thickness of the cable end length..Drill right size hole thru it and make a channel for cable to lay in and center.With cable end in the hole area,melt solder.Take it out and file smooth .I have some cable here,gonna go find it...

well I tried with a hole drilled in alum and layed cable thru the opening.Took electric solder I have here and torch and melted into the cavity till filled.Just wanted to see if solder would hold.Put that end in a vise and yanked on the cable really hard with pliers to see if it would pull out..it didn't .Now I just have to find some thicker alum. and drill hole the same diameter as the ends are and make a little slot in the alum to lay cable down and center of that hole and melt solder into it.With a bit of the hole showing on the opposite side..you take a punch and knock the soldered end out...I have a little heavier cable here,goes thru the servo end no problem until it hits the friggin radius end on the PV side and it won't go thru.So have to find slightly thinner cable.You know what size is required. Wouldn't mind a little thicker then stock as long as it flows thru the radius end of cable.Just gonna have to make sure the cable lengths are right on first.I think cable sticks out 3" past the threaded end when the other end is against cable..is that for all the cables??Need some measurements to go by.
 
hey blue, look at bulk aircraft cable at CDN tire. It is cheap and comes in a few sizes. They can cut as much or as little as you need. I have used it to fix snowblower cables for years.

ok ..searched their site on bicycle cables and found nothing..I have some small diameter cable I bought from them years back to replace the cable that holds up the hood on the sled,but it is a tad to big..slides into cable housing from servo end,doesn't get thru the radius on the valve end.There is a plastic liner in that elbow that it won't go thru.
