I put reverse on my parents SX this fall and now having issues. The chain came loose twice and after the second time I figured it needs to be looked at and when I took it apart I found this, not a drop of oil came out of the drain bolt. The chain is junk but everything else seems OK. I was thinking Id see a bad seal but everything looks fine. I don't see where oil came out or anything. We are putting new seals and bearings. I'm just wondering what could have happened so it doesn't happen again. And yes i'm 99% sure I put oil in it lol.

Theres always that 1%.....Should have had some sort of a trail of oil leaking, even if it was a spot that was "extra clean". How many miles between 1st and 2nd occurance?

First ride 120 miles was fine, it started slipping about 40 miles into the next ride, tightened it and then on the third ride which would have been about 100 miles later and slipped again, at this point the adjuster was in as far as it goes. I know I put oil in it because I remember going to the reverse range on the dipstick.
