mrviper yes i watched cleaner coming through into the bore of the carbs.I sprayed carb cleaner and compressed air into all the ports and passages. Also,I did remove the needle and seats but there were no screens.all the floats look good.when I ran it on the stand it was backfiring occasionaly i think on the rpm drop but im not sure.im going back out to check that fuel pick up and ill pay more attention if it back fires. It seems like when I first start it after sitting awhile it idles nice but then within less than a minute it starts sounding rough.

the filter and pickup line checked out ok.it was occasionaly backfiring on deacceleration.it also cleared up and ran clean a few times but would go right back to running rough.the plugs look dry and a little light in color

is this the first time you ran it this year?
same tank of gas as it was stored with?
also, if you just barely lift up on the choke lever does it run good then?

I only used it a couple of times pulling my fishing stuff on the lake,so it was mostly slower speeds.when I did get to let it rip it was bogging on the top end but would improve with the choke.thats why I tore into the carbs.the pilots were partially plugged on all three.everything else wasn't too bad.It has new gas and I've tried the choke but just on half and full.it bogs it down when on.
