oil injection 440ss

Is it possible to adjust the iol pump cable on a 82 440ss.
If possible how or where can i get the specs for it? :2strokes:
 

the sled seems to be running rich it smokes really bad and fouls plugs if you dont use half choke and then turn it off? :whine: I can find no info about these carbs ther than they are the same as an srv 540
 
thanks I did talk to the local dealer and he explained how to adjust or check them with an 1/8in play in throtle and line up the marks by the pump on the motor. Hope to try this tommorrow.
P.S. the picture for your avatar is that a 440prestige?
 
Yes ..77 PR440 , same basic frame as 73 GP models , just minor changes
for sliders etc. .. I currently have remains of 33 fluid drives. 16 still in frames
and from each year ..72 EW643 , to 77 PR.
It's a hobby..LOL or an addiction

First sled i ever got to drive when i was 8 years old still remember that thing would always pop out of high gear and we would slam it back in. Till it broke of by the case, Ooo was my dad mad it was quite a big deal to weld cast aluminum back then.

I've had a 74TL433 since dec73 and sort of added to the fleet over
the last 12 years...Never had one slip out of drive, lots have the pivot
broken off and were jammed by springs, baling wire , etc , into gear
so they could ride. Trick is to ignore the decal that says start in Neutral.
Neutral was for 1st start of the day, after that just start in drive and set
parking brake latch if it wanted to wonder off..
To save the shift linkage , start up , warm up 30 seconds , turn engine
off and just before it stops turning , pull into drive and restart in drive.
They need to be idling really low to pull in running..Some persons were
putting them in N every time they stopped and most of them broke the
shifter off . Out of 33 units , only one leaks slightly from the converter seam.
The killer was water in oil boiling and it expanded the oil out of unit and
they are hard to prime again.
