vmax 700 shock adjustment

in the rear skid do you have to take the shocks out to crank the springs tighter?
and the answer to your question is YES.There really is no way to get a tool or your hands in there to try and spin the adjuster nut.I pulled the rear shock out of my 600 a few weeks back to adjust. It was very easy actually and about an hout out and in.Just raise back end of sled in the air.this takes any pressure off.I was surprised it was that easy.Just watch the washers where it mounts to the FRA.Some of them may fall down into track like I had happen.I couldn't find 1 washer and I had to go steal one off my spare.

Front shock on skid is also not to tough to remove.

Yeah i figured that they would have to get pulled out in order to crank them up the fronts were easy but the backs dont seem to easy to get at thanks for the info bluemonster1!!

I have adjusted my shocks dozens of times without ever taking them out. I adjust them on the trail. Loosen locking collar then turn spring.

Here again you have many opinions and guess it comes down to what works for you. If you have a spanner wrench or know anywhere you can get one I would suggest that. Then you should be able to get in there without taking shocks outs. Would reccomend wearing some mechanics gloves though. Ive tried about everything right down to a punch and hammer. Works in a pinch but dont reccomend doing it that way all the time. Those new Irwin channel locks they have out work pretty good. Get the smaller size. I made my own spanner wrench out of some old wrench I had and that works really good. Also pioneer performance I think still offers a spring nut that you can turn by hand but stays put when your done adjusting. Had those on my previous sx and they worked awesome. Little pricy but hey what the hell. So your options are many. Good luck figuring out what works for you.

ive tightened and loosened both springs multiple times without taking the skid out? just make sure the treads are well lubricated and i can spin it with my hands... Just a thought.. do you have the threaded body shocks or the steel bodied ones?

well if its being that stubborn you might want to take blues advice and pull the shocks out, get them in a vice where you can get some reef on them. Really doesnt take that long and will also be a good time to look over the shocks and rest of the suspension
