well got the PV cables on today,took my time adjusting valves properly.I replaced the stator last week,cleaned carbs well,jetted back to stock specs,45 pilot,2.25 turns on fuel screws.Installed brand new exhaust donuts and made sure they all fit snug.
Started up fine and decided to take her out for a test ride.Well I knew something changed just the way it pulled and that sound is back and it pulls like a freight train again.WOW.Have I ever missed that feeling.Took her out into a mile long field with over a foot of powder and was climbing to almost 95 on the speedo with little effort.That felt good.Did a few launches from standstill and it pulls the skis up about 6 inches and accelerates great.Now went to the river to do some long pulls.The first 3 attempts my DCS stated to flash... :o| had to back off.Wow this hasn't happened in a long time.Finally got some runs where it stayed off.Got to 100 no problem but the rpm was at only 8200 wot.If I launch from a stop I will hit 8500 dead on and drop back and climb.In the deep snow she was at 8500 no problem.So I know she will pull rpms.
So with 45 miles on as a test I was happy things have changed now.I am hoping them cables don't go on me again..I am running stock weights,springs,helix.I have a little to much weight in the primary I figure.Was running at 52.7 grams per arm.Stock would be 51.49 grams.But that should over rev. So took some weight from inner holes.Had them at about 5 grams,but now dropped to 4 grams inner and 4.5 outer.Should make a difference.
Will be riding all day tomorrow as temps will be ideal for it.Just want to get it to about 8400-8450 wot and I will leave it and ride..but should be close.Love that snap again and the pull.No more Blaaaaa!!! when I nail it..that is what I noticed the most.Seems like I gain some extra rpm at idle,so actually turned the idle screw down 1/2 turn and adjusted TPS..and idle is where it should be.
Man I hope this it it and just will ride rest of the season and enjoy.More snow coming this weekend also..how much better can it get...lol
 

Sometimes the tuning gets the best of ya. I used to hotrod everything, even a string trimmer. Hence, my name motorhead. Now im just a finatic with maintance, it just gets old fast. Glad you have a factory ripper again.

Maybe see you out there Doug.. Meeting a bunch of guys from La Salle and heading east toward South Junction. Sun is coming up, frost on the trees, Sleds fueled and ready to go, going to be an awesome day of riding... Oh, careful if you are heading towards St Agathe a bunch of ice ridges have popped up. Almost hit them last Sunday..
 
yeah I will be heading to St Agathe.Gonna be a great riding day..if it gets cloudy,them ice ridges will be hard to see..Tomorrow -1 and freezing rain..so today is the day..It is -18 C now and going to -8 so riding will be ideal..hope Sun stays out for a while.
 
Ya, the ice ridges are hard to see.. Didnt see them till last second last weekend. It was cloudy.. I stop and chat with those guys at the fishing shacks all the time..lol... Fishing sucks there.. 4ft of ice and 2ft of water, they like to party there...lol... Mel spent a couple of hours there warming up while Mark and I rode to Morris and back to get her. She didnt want ride all that way...lol...
 
just for a day and then gets back to -25C.We are cold most of the winter.We just came out of -45 to -50 Windchill days a few weeks back.Warm spell comes in mix's with cold air and we get more snow and winds for Sunday/Monday.
 
well put on 135 miles on the SRX today.Got to say reliable motor,always gets me home.Still cannot get the damn clutching spot on..driving me nuts but she pulls like crazy all day and that acceleration is what I live for.Motor sounds alive again.I ride it very aggressive and always have her wot usually.Seems like the PV cables are holding up so far..touch wood.Even with stock clutching can't get the rpms up at wot.Clutch's all good,belt good.Do notice more belt marks on primary sheave but clutch's are cool to the touch after wot pulls when I checked.Wish I could ride like a normal person and get better gas mileage.Think I was averaging about 12 mpg today.Maybe the damn Yamalube is slowing me down a bit..never know.But all in all loved the way it rode today.
 
Sounds like a big day of riding. I only put 12 on today. Used xtc in ice fishing tournament today. Buddy got biggest fish with a 26 inch pike. He won a sweet ducks unlimited knife. Finally saw 100 on my dream meter with a high speed pass across the lake. cheers

hey come Fall..you just never know what I will consider.I would have to at least sell one of my sleds first before even considering another one..Price has to be good also.
 
I put about 30 miles up and down the rivers trails are begging for snow the I've will do for now ! Ran perfect and loud like she is suspose to! U know its me coming lmao saber ! 2013 and still they hold up against the new ones did he say a 100 lol ? Man my beast pushing that at half throttle! I got two speeds 0-50 and 50 to a hundred all no more the half throttle ! That's enough to say ok lay off it ! I bet this sled would runs over 130 1/4 mile
