WELL she's back again that SRX of mine

it is warming up here today and then an Alberta clipper comes thru..cold temps will mix..snow and 70 km plus winds.Another Blizzard to deal with..so probably won't be riding today..we will see how it goes.Winter is not over by a long stretch here yet.. :letitsnow ;)! :sled1: yipee!!!
 

Well just gearing up to head out riding and it starts pouring rain here!!! Whats up with that? Its February!!! Covered sleds up and going to wait a bit and hopefully it turns to snow and ride I will... Took the Venture out yesterday and wow it is a couch to ride.. Never really riden it before and man is it a nice soft ride... Flew by three Cats yesterday and they started chasing me down because that yammi couch was beating them...lol.. They didnt catch me must have given up..lol..

well finally all my woes are over.The SRX is back!! Solved my clutching issue thanks to another member on here discussing it thru PM's.He was right on the money.Sled is back in stock formation and she is screaming again like it should.The acceleration is awesome,motor sounds sweet and rpm's are there also.Nothing like that pull when the rpms on top are on track..sled just wants to go fast.
NOW what can I do to get more out of it...lol...kidding..it is staying stock and it sure is beautiful to ride again in this form.PV cables still holding up.Thanks to NickyTech for selling me 6 used PV cables,now I have a total of 5 spares here.Should be good for a while.
I am a happy sledder again..Probably won't sell it now unless someone gives me a great price for it.. ;)! :sled1: :sled1: almost got 10,000 mile s on the motor..some 400 some miles to go.

yep put on another 55 miles.Was 0 C today,running a liitle rich but all is fine.SRX is screaming again and rpm is where it is supposed to be..a nice fun riding sled again..
a note to SRX owners.If you SRX is running strong in stock form..leave it be as it will be a fun sled to ride.Start messing with stuff and you go backwards some times.I spent to much over the years to try and go a few more miles an hour.The way my SRX felt today was like it was a brand new sled.Arm ripping for sure and that is why we all expect from these sleds.If you are into drags or radar runs..well that is a different beast..

and another thing,I have so much confidence in both my SXR and SRX to go riding far from home and still they bring me back in one piece.That is what I love about Yamaha sleds..basically bulletproof.
 
Glad to hare your sled is running good now.. Keep her stock and ride her like you stole her... I ride my Viper like I stole her and ahe is awesome.. Gonna have to meet up on river and have a race now..lol.. I am starting to build a new engine for my Viper now. Want more power and going to keep the stock motor just in case...lol... Went out to Richer, Marchand,Sandilands, Woodridge, La Brouquie, Steinbach, St Anne, Land Mark, Ille De Chene and home yesterday... Trails are awesome and my riding partner keeps saying he needs a quicker sled as he cant keep up to me...lol.. He has a polaris Dragon 800... Viper eats his sled up every time...lol.. Weather sucks today for riding so going to wrench on the Venture to get her set up a little better..
 
are you going to long track your viper also..thinking of long tracking my SRX.Have to get prices together to see if it is worth the money..I just rode to St Agathe and Lasalle past weekend.River running..I don't buy Sno pass's,so I stay local areas.Don't think I could handle a long day of riding anyways..like my short runs .
 
Ya going to long track her as well.. Not sure if I want to go 136 or 144 yet.. I look at it this way, do the sled front to back and I got a new machine for the fraction of the cost of a new 4 stroke.. and when I am done I will eat up those Apex's without any problem.. I have trouble running with them in the open, but on the trails I am right there with them.. I love doing the long trips, we just ride and end up where ever we end up...lol.. No planned route but have a blast heading up trails and making our own trails. We find some really cool places and the guy I ride with is from B.C and is a mountain rider, he is teaching me some really cool riding technics for deep powder ect.. We look for alot of powder and play..
 
do you know what skid you are going with or are you just extending the present skid..I would love to go to a 144 myself,will see what the cost is first.
 
I have been pondering on using an apex skid.. or just getting a longer viper skid and putting that on.. Doing some research right now, its going to be my summer project.. Also being looking at getting a longer tunnel from Fabcraft rather than extending the existing tunnel.. Dont want to extend my existing skid, want full rails and want to be able to swap back if I dont like.. Look at sleds in Alberta and B.C they are all long tracked and been talking to some guys from out there for advice..
