Yamacat

Personally, I dont think it's a bad deal. Yamaha isnt exactly an industry leader where suspension is concerned. I do recall reading countless threads on here about swapping suspensions in from other brands.
Theyre just doing it for us now. ;)!

I am a little disgusted with the deal, imo Cat quality has always been lousy and their sleds were slapped together with a "close enough" attitude. I really hope that Yamaha has their thumb on quality control and the finished product.

Another concern is the fact that Cat isn't afraid to sell horsepower, where Yamaha has always been too conservative. If Cat comes out with the same sled with a SC or turbo it's gonna kill the Viper sales.

If quality control is maintained I think this will be a great deal! This chassis has a lot of very good things going for it. Weight is down! Exhaust exits the belly pan eliminating all the tunnel icing problems! Ride and handling are great! I think this is a win win situation. Cat gets great engines and Yammi greats a great chassis. I'd ride one but will likely wait for the boosted version to come out! Im betting we see it in 2015.

-Yamaha was White and Red for years.....and Polaris was Blue....
-Under powered for a TRAIL sled...... What the H...
-Return of the Viper..... Well the Vmax has been used in 82/83 V540, 92V4, 94 5/600's, 97 SX,........Not to mention their Road bike in 85.

-90% of complaints are from those who wanted/needed a quicker, Lighter weight, trail sled capable of taking the bigger bumps with decent handling and Yamaha delivered just that and with the help of U.S. workers. ;)! ;)!

That's a good point about the US workers. If they made it white and red like the old sleds that would be awesome. Yamaha has such a reputation for reliability and quality that I'm sure their going to keep a close eye on Cat to make sure everything is up to their standards. If they don't and let Cat put out some off the crap they did in the past then Yamaha may not end up good outta this. For me personally it doesn't really matter since I don't have 12 grand laying to buy a new one. I happy with my Viper with a few more mods. Its interesting to keep track of the new stuff though. Maybe 5 years from now I can get a used 2014 Viper.LOL

Great Point! ;)! I think it looks badass and from the videos I watched on youtube makes me want one even more! Good job Yamaha! And from what I see out of any brand of new snowmobiles they all look the same! Its gonna come down to who has the better engine and Yamaha has em all beat in my opinion

now wouldn't that be a nice surprise for the 2015..They would of tricked us again and give us a SRXCAT....with an 800 motor ( 2 stroker)..better be in Blue then.I am sure they are working on something. Then the Apex(heavy weight) can exit the arena.I think they would name it SEXCAT ,,yeah!! Long track it to the hilt and maybe turbo it to like produce some 250 -300 HP.Only problem the price would be around $25,000... :o| :o| :o|

Huh? Turbo 2 Stroker?

How cool would it be if they supercharged it for 2015 and called it the SRX!
even if the SRX comes out that way..who the heck could really afford it??Maybe if they bring out a 2 stroke 800 for a half decent price..might sell. But all depends on the economy and seems a lot of people are over extended these days.Like it,s costly now with not much savings in hand anymore,at least over here.We are taxed to death on everything and gonna be taxed more I hear..so disposable cash will be hard to find.Yamaha may be smart here not to put all their eggs in one basket, but spread the risk just in case. Then they wouldn't lose to much if everything spirals..
