Ive got a lot of great help and ideas on this sled but my problem still isnt cleared up.
My problem is a low end bog.Ive cleaned(4 times)and put new factory jets in the carbs.Checked the reeds, bypassed tors and banged my head on the wall but nothing changes.
When cold it will start right up and run as it should.Nice clean and crisp. After about a minute the idle will drop down and begin running rough. If I rev it up(on the stand) a few times I can get it to run good on the top end but a few seconds after ideling down it runs rough again.I pulled the plug wires 1 at a time while running and the clutch side and center make a big difference but on the mag(stator?)side there is no difference at all. When I lower the sparkplug cap close to the plug I can hear it sparking but no difference in the way it runs.I tried switching the coils around but no change. Also, while reved up all three cylinders are firing, its just like the mid-range down to idle i loose the mag cylinder.
Other things ive done...year before last stator, checked the plug wires and caps, checked fuel pump and vac hose. Also when I pulled the carbs today all the floats were full but when looking into the cylinders with a light the clutch and center seem a little wet but the mag side seems dry.For those that might have followed the other thread"sx700 no oil" the cylinder thats not running right is the 1 with the highest compression out of all three.Im at the point where I dont mind taking it in but I want to rule out everything i can first. thanks Al
