And how far? On the final leg of a 3 1/2 day, nearly 800 mile trip, my brother had a "little off". Since I have more riding experience (and no wife or kids to leave behind) I rode it 60 miles to get back. Ran her up to 55 at one point, but kept it under 50 most of the time. Going straight wasn't too bad, but corners were another story :eek: (yes, that's the direction that ski was pointing when the other was straight)

Just take the carbide of that ski and your GOLDEN! Picked up a 99 srx 700 that looked a little worse than that, Not knowing much about it I hit it with a sledge to straighten. Bolted a peice of 1/4 flat stock inside/outside with 4 3/8 bolts and put 700 miles on it last year before fixing it right, Amato now has it for a lil fab work!
 
I Rode my old 97 700 sx in the same and even worse shape at ty ride years back. Mine trailing arm finally broke clear in to. We used an emergency pull start rope to tie it to the sled and rode on. Man those were the days.
 
We had three guys trying to straighten it out. But with both radius rods, the shock rod and tie rod bent too, there was no way it was getting straight.

Thought about that while riding it and could have tried. but I doubt we could have got the carbide off with the tools we had as the studs and nuts are badly rusted.
 
I did that to the right side of mine 2 hours after I bought it. I rode about 3 blocks to the road... oh I also broke off the handle bars, so at the turns I had to get off & turn the skis and get back on to make the corner.
 
Had one look about like that last yr trail crash with few cats that could not ride on there own side. And yr b4 had one get stuck under hole in trail and sled went around the ski and ski was pointing at track. Rode them both back one 20 miles other 40 miles. Good times
 
You should try riding a 1981 340 Indy home after you traded your buddy for his 3 wheeler and then he dives it into a R.R. switch. The ski tips were almost touching..... :)
 
I got my Viper put 18.7 miles on it, folded the traling arm under the sled broke my collar bone and then had the pleasure of riding it home with me and my sled busted up! good times!! LOL
 
i bent my fathers trailing arm over the weekend on his skidoo. i was crossing the road going to the truck when i was going to go over the other snow bank and BOOM i got a handle bar to the groin and almost went over the bars. i have no idea how it happened but now i am in trouble. oh well got it on the gopro though! it will be up in a bit!
 
how do you straiten out control arms(the ones from the bulk head to the spindle) my lower one has a bit of a bow. or would i be worth it and leave it so its not futiged
 
oh yea, and i pulled some ones sled off a tree, he went around a corner and some one was in the middle of the trail going the otherway scared him so he dove it into a tree, that was the seccond skidoo my 700 pulled out that weekend. bent trailing arm and rods he limpped it home

If the alignment is still good and the sled handles ok you could just leave it.
If it's not too bad of a bow, you could remove it and try to straighten in a press or vice.
If the bow is more severe, some people have tried heating the arm as they bend/press it back to straight.
The easiest way to fix it may be to just find a nice used one, they are generally available for +/- $20. Keep an eye on your alignment, if you keep track of your locknut position when you remove the bent arm and reinstall the replacement, you may be about spot on.
