need ur opinions ?

Right on........ why spend a bunch of money to make your sled louder, usually slower, and give all snowmobilers a bad rap, f...ing stupid....... but then there is the less weight arguement...... well just go on a diet or take a dump if the couple pounds make you think the aftermarket can is such a good thing. LOUD CANS ARE A MARKETING THING TO BOOST YOUR SMALL MAN'S EGO. YOU WILL REALIZE THIS ONCE YOU GROW UP.

Blue I need to move to ur neck of the woods. Sounds like you can do whatever you want up there in the great white north heh. ride where you want have loud sleds if you want. Unfortunately not like that everywhere have to abide by rules sometimes. Around here riding off marked trail big no no. so are loud sleds. I know mine has guts taken out of can and it to loud.

I live outside the City in a farming area..off the property to the ditch..fields and Rivers without issues. If I want to go further out eventually I will hit the trails and would need a pass. But I could take the River all the way to the US/Canada border..the further up North you go..anything will go usually..really who is going to waste time tracking loud sleds in the Bush and Lake areas...

I blew a hole in the Y pipe last weekend. Wow was that ever loud. My head was really throbbing and I couldn't hear very well for about a day after that. I think quiet and really fast is way better than loud and kinda fast.
that is why you usually hear voices in your head Ding..add some exhaust fumes and you are on Cloud Nine..lol

I have had the cans on the redhead motors before. They sound awesome and they don't lose very much performance........unlike a Viper does. No need to rejet either. One thing I have noticed with the redheads and with SRX's with cans. When you go to start them with a cold motor they pop right off. With the stock can they seem to be cold blooded and blubbery on bottom until you clean them out good. Must be a back pressure thing. I won't run a can on my Viper because they lose alot of performance. I had triples on it one season and the same thing, one pull and she's running smooth with no loading up.

let the sleds be loud, its been a part of the game since day one with all the laws on db levels its bs i hate harleys or loud ricers but they rip all summer long. i have respect i dont run the can on late night rides or light it up next to houses etc. its aginest the law here in ny but the cops are more concerned with drunks and guys riding abrest (trail racing) . one thing i did find with my rumble pack is when im cruzing around 6000-7000 rpm its stays nice and even no hesitation. with the stock can it gets kinda choked up at 6000 rpm(almost sounds like an exahaust leak) when i try and stay right there, but clears right up after i add more fuel. idk

this is what ur sleds r runnin

You gonna try and tell me that my punched can that is slightly louder than a stock exhaust and the cross baffle with a 3/8" hole drilled in are any where near as loud as a can.

ok mabye not as loud but still drilled out exaust way louder than stock so if u were concerned about noise pollution then why? i live in the bush on the lake and i dont buzz anybody at night cause i know its loud u guys up in thunder bay shhouldnt have a problem with cans i have a camp north of wawa and never been bugged by the popo we live in the great white north usually not a problem

you will have to remind the Trail police about the Harley riders..are they loud..louder..yes..so why don't they get ticketed..

They get tickets in a few cities now. Chicago apparently put the crack down on Harley's with straight pipes. And Chris, no harley has straight pipes ( no mufflers) from the factory. All HD's from the factory are pretty quiet. The epa would not allow a new bike to be that loud.

I am hoping that Milwaukee puts their foot down on straight pipe Harley's. I'm sick of them.

If us sport bikers ran straight pipes we would get pulled over in a heart beat.
At least I don't live right behind a HD dealership anymore like I did before I bought my own house.

I still need to get out of town for the 110th fart fest. But where do I go? The whole state will be inundated with them.

I live in the land of NOT MY BACK YARD so I am conscious of the noise. I live just out side of town and listen to guys go by all the time with pipes and my neighbors complain, but not about my sleds. Our trail club used to claim the stature of the largest in the world (3,300+ members) and due to numerous problems, one of the major being noise, etc, is now almost non-existent. If you pull up 20' behind me with a can I can hear you coming, with a punched can I can pull up beside you and the only reason you know I'm there is if you see me.

my buddies "drilled can" for his red head 700 is WAY louder than my ss rumble pack even at, idle sounds great. the cans today arent like straight pipes or stingers like back in the day they have come a long way in that respect i really understand both sides and try real hard to be good but its just too much fun sorry.

theres no way the drilled stock can is louder than a rumble pack i had both and rumble pack is much louder. loud pipes save lives lol!!! if u like the sound use them and if not then dont . but its all a matter of opinion . most people on this site r runnin after market exaust on there sleds and there r performance gains if done properly and less wheight which equalvilates to hp so there r gains better throttle response no more bog when u jamb it and the sound is second to none so be loud and proud!!! ;)!
