Fill the cavity with grease. I was having a really tough time getting mine off and and I just filled the cavity with a couple pumps of grease and then inserted the puller and put a impact gun on it. It popped right off.

pack the hole with some grease and retry it. the grease will cause a hydraulic effect that will assist the tool.

Also make sure your using a good puller. Those $20.00 ones are junk and bend easily. Bend the end very bad and it will mess up the threads in the crank.

I remember last season I guy had to cut his clutch off due to the bolt breaking or bending so bad he couldn't remove it..now that would not be a nice thing to go thru..get OEM puller for $30 and it will work forever.I think I have used mine at least 1000 times in 8 years..lol..I do a lot of clutch tuning...lmao..But they work great..
Grease the treads on the puller and try that. If the puller thread are dry it creats more friction and sometimes the grease on the threads is the difference.

X2 on the grease. I myself would never use an impact though. I use a wooden handled hammer threw the primary to stop rotation and do it by hand. Impact wrench could lead to premature crank bearing failure.
Also make sure you are using a 6 point socket not a 12 point socket. I have seen it where a 12 point socket would not work and then use a 6 point socket and it came off

I always use never cease on the threads of the puller.
I never really thought about an impact causing damage..
I know the dealers use them... But then again you know how dealers are lol

In the hands of some one that KNOWS what they are doing probably wouldnt hurt a thing. In the hands of someone that THINKS they know what they are doing is another story. I have actually cringed at some of the things I have seen people do to their stuff. HIGHLY recomend following torque proceedure when re-installing.....as in ESPECIALLY dont put back on with impact gun.

Put a 2' pry bar through the clutch towers so it lays on the belly pan and the clutch can't spin. Then put a 4' breaker bar on the puller and turn it slowly. Works better than an impact and grease.

I would never put the clutch on with a impact. I use a tourqe wrench and tourqe and then retourqe. to specs.
I have taken many clutches off before. If I use a little 18v battery powered impact I doubt it's going to hurt it. If the shops use air powered guns.

That's what I was doing until I couldn't get it off. Then I used the grease trick.
It really is amazing how well it works.

I am sure no one thought you meant an 18v battery impact(some are still pretty torky) I just dont want to blame myself for planting the seed of destruction when some one that isnt that mechanical runs wild with an impact wrench. Doin it by hand you can tell when ones being stuborn and needs to be massaged more than others. When the girlfreinds SXR burnt down I ended up torquing on the puller a lil more than I was comfartable with(by hand) and leaving it sit over nitght, popped right off next morning.
Had I grabbed an impact may have came off night before.......but at what cost?

I don't think the torque level of the tool used matters as much as the hammering that takes place.
I had heard for years not to use one but knew of many that did without any issues so I used one too...
...until I rattled the magnet off the flywheel of a customer's Doo.
