yep doesn't work to bad.I have the SXR shocks in mine and it helps.I set mine at FRA in soft position.I haven't bottomed out on it.It may still be a little bumpy on a stretch of ice hard moguls, but over all I do not get that jarring shot to the spine that I did with stock suspension..the skids are identical except for the shocks and transfer rods.If you want it even more cushy, you could install Viper rear shocks and front shocks as well..or just buy a used Sc 5/10 or extra10 skid cheap..

SxR skid wont slow you down as much as an m10 or other aftermarkets skids. Like blue said shocks/rods/limiteer straps are the only differance. It will bolt in just like your skid in there now. You can flip the front shock brackets in the front to even sled heighth out or pick up SxR/Venture front shocks.

Putting an xtra 10 on it will probably gain you the best ride and the least amount of speed lost, if any. Versus the stock skid. The xtra 10 was used on all the fastest Polaris sleds, and it delivers a great ride.

Putting am Xtra-10 in a Yamaha is not a big deal, just need some plate steel for the front mounts, the rear holes can be put in the stock rear plate, just need to drill a new hole. I didn't use rivets when I installed the Xtra-10 in my Vmax this winter. Used 5/16" stainless bolts with locknuts, much faster and it isn't going anywhere. For spacers, just use 2-3 washers a side on the rear bolts. Front bolts I didn't need spacers, I used 1/4" plate steel to bolt in. I've done this conversion on my previous SRX, and now my Vmax, you will like the difference, trust me. Only takes a 2-3 hours outta your day and you're good to go.

so the cross tubes of the xtra is a little narrower and you had to fill in each side to fit Yami tunn el.Would the IQ squid be the same as the xtra skid basically.Have a chance to purchase a 136 08 Dragon Switchback skid..

well i ended up getting the 2002 viper skid, it looked in much better shape then the sxr skid. will try installing it tonight to see any differences over the stock 99 skid, should it sit up a little more??

Yes by a couple inches at least. Exact numbers will vary depending on settings of both skids.

Just a suggestion I installed viper shocks in my 02 srx skid this past winter and I sent my shocks out to be re-valved and it definitely made a difference, just my 2 cents

viper skid swap??
well the viper skid is now in the srx and it sits up almost 4.5 inchs higher and is nice and soft tried it around the yard and over a few dumps, what a huge difference!!!. only noticed after that the skid i bought was missing the botton transfer rod bolts and spacers. will using the bottom spacers from the old srx be ok??

I am pretty sure the 99 SRX would have had the short version and 02 would have had longer version transfer rods. I know theres some adjustable versions that you change out the bottom only. Worth a try, worse case scenario they may be on the short side.

spacers
will only be using the bottom spacers, the viper transfer rods are good, i noticed some have the small spacer on top and thicker on the bottom and others are the opposite ?? will post pic tomorrow.

pictures
a couple pictures of the viper skid, real nice soft ride and sits way up. took it out for a trip yesterday and it still handles nice. but having some trouble with the transfer rods when i add the bottom spacers and bolts it brings the rear way down.
