Just curious.....

Started off with a ttr 125 then a yz125, I loved both an decided to trust yamaha for my first sled. 2001 sxr, still have it an am still hooked

What got me hooked was my dad's brand new '85 SRV when I was 4 years old, loved that sled. He had it a few years and then upgraded to an '88 Exciter, I remember being so mad when he sold the SRV but I quickly fell in love with the Exciter.

Although I didn't love my childhood sleds provided by mom and dad, it sunk in that Yamaha's were bullet proof... every time we went out riding with the family friends who all rode other brands, one of the others would always breakdown in some fashion while my fam's Yamaha's never did. I rode a 250 Bravo as a kid, then a 340 Ovation until I was old enough to buy my own sled, a '93 Exciter II when I was 15. Was the best handling sled I've ridden to this day, light and quick. Sold the Exciter when I was 19 and bought my '95 Vmax 600 which I've been happy with for the past 12 years. Picked up my '97 Vmax4 in '04 and while she's mostly a garage queen, probably the best looking sled of all and what a blast to ride..

Once Yami switched over to the Pro-Action chasis in '97, I haven't been overly excited about any of their sleds. Some of them have grown on me a little over the years but none of the post 1997 models are must have's for me....the Yami's that get me excited are the ones I loved as a kid...SRV, Vmax 540, Exciter, Exciter II, Vmax's/Vmax4's...that's why I'll continue to ride my old iron and add even older iron to my stable..

LOL, forgot all about my YZs. I had a 76 125, and my first "real" dirt bike as a kid. Moved onto a Kawasaki KX 125 In 84, then onto a 90 YZ 250. That was my last dirt bike I owned. Ditched that in about 03. Miss it, just no place to ride any more.

My mom's first snowmobile in 1969 was a 292 Snojet with a yamaha motor.
mine was a 69 too. but it was sixteen years old when I bought it. guy had a rupp 440 nitro and the snojet. wanted $100 for either one but wouldnt sell me the rupp because I was just a kid.

For the longest time I rode the old ski doo 292 as a kid. Even as a youngster we found ways to ride it in the summer time. Yup loved riding that much. We found a way to put wheels on the front. Anyways years later after buying ski doos my brother got a 2001 SRX 700. And all I can say was that was it. I had to have one. Took for ever to get one and LOVE IT....:) I can't wait to see how she runs next season.

1984 phaser

In their day had the best suspension and even as a short track was the best by far in the powder. All my buddies had to pack gas, that 10gallon gas tank was awsome. Pulled home a lot of poo's.............That thing never broke!

For me it was a 1977 GS340 when i was 13 years old, man thats 27 years ago now. Bugged my parents to buy it for me for $300. Thats all i wanted for X-mas. Long story short, it had a blown track i was washing dishes and took me a month to save up for a new track and got it installed. Had the sled for 7 years, drove it to school, work etc. Then i swicthed to Indy Polaris 500 classic until the the SRX came along and brought me back. Had 3 of them until i felt the boost and its been 4 stroke since, i have 3 in the stable now, a v-max 600, RX1 turbo and a new Nytro RTX, I love the Nytro

bought a 87 exciter in 92 when I got back into riding. Man that thing was a hoot. Then a 94 vmax 600. Then my 97sx that I wish I could have married was far more loyal. Got the 05 vector and just couldnt adapt to it. Took a couple years off and had to get another 97. Updated her and will never let her go now

Quite an impressive list of toys you have there..... ;)!

For me it was the 81 srx440 for the sheer looks and awe of of snowmobile, it looked just like darth vaders machine with that low smoke windshield and flip up headlight.

I actually grew up we had mostly cats, eltigres ran good back then, then we got a srx440, 79 and then a awesome looking black and gold 80. They were fast for such a small compact sled.
Then got into thundercats in the early and mid 90's had those for quite some time but the true yamaha convertor/believer sled for me was the 98 srx700!
I got a brand new one and could not believe it was just as fast as the ol thunder kitty and how small and nimble, good handling in the trails and such, plus I never, ever had to work on it.
Used to be a joke when we would stop and someone elses other brand sled was broke down, I would say: "I think this sled has a tool kit on it somewhere if you want to use it, I will have to look for it cause I have never used it"...LOL!!
