Our clubs organizes a three race series for its members every winter here in Sodankylä. From every race you get points and the points winner wins the hole series. Qualifying runs are 2 solo runs and the place in the bracket is determined by speed (measured dy radargun). Qualifying runs were all snow runs from start to finish. In the race starts are from stratingline tracks. Those are 50cm wide long snowmobile tracks mounted to a wooden frame in the startingline.
The are several different classes :
juniors (no cc or fan lc limit)
Ladies (ladies can race against men if they want also)
600
800
open (everything goes, turbos, superchargers, funny fuels and gasses etc)
My 9-year old son Juuso raced 85`SRV in the juniors first race. He finished second, only losing to a 600 RMK. SRV ran the 200 m 115kmh
Sami, my brother, raced my 800 MountainMax in the 800 class. His best qualifying run was 139,9 kmh, second fastest. Only an Tundra watercross sled was faster... Sami finished in the 3rd place. V4 suffers from lack of tractiong after the startinglinetracks, since all the new sled have so big lugs in the tracks that they carve up the raceline pretty bad. V4 ´s running boards hit the racetrack actually.
Anyway, shows that Vmax is more than capable running with the new iron, still.

I didn´t get any action pics or video since I was way too busy to follow the racing and keeping the SRV ready and warm for Juuso. We had some issues with it being in too lean from the bottom, but we´ll get it fixed to the next race. Weather was way colder what Sami expected it to be and the jetting was bit off. He likes to mess with the carbs.. LOL
Final advise before qualifying for Juuso
Junior top 3
Juuso training with some bigger iron later that day.
