We ran at New England Dragway yesterday. Hot as heck! 85-90, with dew points 65-69, barometer low - 29.67-29.80". Which surprises me why my sled (the 02 SRX) ran as good as it did. Broke out first round with a 10.85 (@ 116.64 with 1.517 60ft), best the sled has ever run (I had the guy covered by 2-tenths on the light, but he runs a 168mph bike and I was not going to let off and let him zoom past me)! Tailwind wind speeds of 10-15mph with gusts up to 20mph probably helped.

Kendra's sled (00 SRX) ran OK too. 60ft's were back to consistant 1.461 - 1.482 after changing the primary spring from Y-S-Y to Y-W-Y which brought the engagement from 3100 to about 3900. Tony, you were right, that engagement was too low and the cause of the "stumble" I had been chasing the past few times out. I'll keep working on that engagement RPM. Best run was 10.52 @ 121.68. She lost second round with a late light.

Hope to race again this coming Sunday. When do you run again, Tony?

SCOTT GREAT RESULTS.ARE RESULTS ARE SO CLOSE. LAST TIME I RAN MINE WAS AT A 1/8 MILE EVENT. I WAS LAST SLED STANDING BUT WENT .477 RED IN SEMIS. SLED WAS RUNNING 6.90,s AT 98 MPH (slow). KEEP IN MIND, I DROVE. I AM 238. huge factor. CRAZY ON THE HEAT SCOTT. I WON,T RUN MINE WHEN ITS THAT WARM. MY TRACK HAS A BIKE AND SLED EVENT ONLY ON SUNDAY. GET THAT ENGAGEMENT UP TO ATLEAST 4500. that tail wind helped ya alot, but hey, thats free mph LOL 3:16 (yammie tony)

My sled was running 6.82 @ 96, 6.79 @ 98, and 6.77 @ 98 in the 1/8. Yeah I know I have a weight advantage. Lucky with good genetics. LOL! Yeah, I am going to keep moving up the engagement. I have read that 4500-4600 works for the SRX's. When I raced cars, I don't recall the wind being so effective. I will have to keep this in mind for dial-in's in the future.

thats why I need to get into asphalt. Been losing weight but even at my "fighting weight" I'm still too big.

I banned my wife from Totallyamaha & Vmax4.com.....and yes I still cannot say if she ways more than you Scott....could work out real badly for me...

New update from yesterday: No record breaking runs, but no changes either. Kendra's sled was very consistent in the 60' 1.479, 1.480, 1.474. Unfortunately she had a -0. 002 red light and ran a 10.683 on a 10.68 dial - in first round! Needless to say she was beside herself but very happy with the sled. I made it to second round but was later and ran a little further off my dial - in. One of these days we are both going to go many rounds and get these awesome blue Yamaha's in the limelight!

scott 30 sled field i come in 5. our 700 sx won sled class and $500 first prize. srx ran good. 10.90,s with my big butt, .500 lites pretty consistent. problem i am having is rebuild ing my skid every time out. freaking grass racing. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Sadly we don't get many sleds out hear. This week there were 7 and that was 2 more than usually. Total sled/bike count was 19. Still having fun though.

How come you are having to redo the rear suspension so much?

Oh, okay. I am embarrassed to admit that both sleds have a lot of worn parts. Got to start going through them, just hard to find the time and money.

I try to keep between 1/4 and 1/2 tank of fuel in them. This week I had too much in mine, probably closers to 3/4+. I replaced the sender before racing (float rod had broken off) but now it is not reading accurate. Reads more fuel than there actually is. Haven't looked into that yet either.

3:16 I ran into that same issue last year ice dragging on my '02. As soon as gage was just below 1/4 tank she would cough about 300' out. Great job on the tar wish we had sleds running in southeast wisconsin. My local track has 2 maybe 3 sleds running. Keep the Srx running strong!!!!!!
