You must of heard that from a Polaris guy. Yes, at one time it was the best clutch out there. Problem is, it hasn't changed much. If this is any indication. I used to pit for a Polaris racer on the ice drag circuit in the late '80's to early '90's. It's the same circuit Hauck and Knapp raced in. I knew Pat Hauck and remember him running Polaris clutches on his mod sleds. After the new YXR came out in '95 on the Vmax4, he stayed with the Yammie clutch. He admitted it worked better and lasted longer. Like I said, I ran the P-85 and also a Comet 108C back then. I was rebuilding them about every two years. I have yet to wear one of these newer generation YXR clutches out. Personally I like the Heavy Hitter weights in the YXR clutch. I believe Simons CPR has a good setup for your RX-1.
