01 SRX saved from farm field!!!

So yesterday I go to tow an RV out of some guys field like 10 miles from my house. I pull up and my attention is immediately drawn from the RV to whats hiding in 3 ft of weeds next to it. I ask the owner about it and he tells me he rolled it in 2011 and parked it. said it was wayyyy too fast for him. I give it a once over looking for rodent damage and don't see any chewed wires up top. I pulled it over and she wasn't locked up so I asked him how much would it cost me to give this beast a new home. He says $1500. It needs a hood,(which I just so happen to have) and the bellypan plastics have some bruising(got them too). I offered him $1000 and he agreed. So after I towed the RV I went back and picked up MY new SRX. 4110 miles with everything stock including clutching.
I had a nice long talk with the sled after I got it home. Kinda like how Harry Hoag talked to the racecar he was building for Cole Trickle in Days of Thunder. Told her shes gonna go faster than she ever imagined. I think she was happy to hear that.
Sorry for the long winded post but I'm all jacked up about this. Its my first 01. I had a pieced together 98 I got scammed on, turned out the crank was never fixed. Prolly why it would never do over 100 on gps.

Can't wait to see the pics
I am going to check out a 2002 with 3900 miles, 1 owner sled tomorrow after work. He says it is in really nice shape and he took care of it. I have learned that some peoples idea of "mint,clean or well taken care of" is much different than mine- we'll see

Someone that owned a sled that long from new usually a good sign !
 
Ya I'm pretty jacked about it. Next comes the fun part. Clean the carbs and power valves and empty the two yr old gas from the tank. Im prolly gonna do tunnel bearings too. Now when I take the carb rack off it isnt any different than my 99 except the tps right?

No sir all the same i have an 01 i got that dude ran thru a camper cocked on rangeley lake at a hundo. Got it for $500 guy said he'd never touch a sled again. Needed new total front end rods and wat not came w sxr parts to fix with. 10'000 miles never torn apart runs and looks like day it was new. Love my 01
