Anybody else getting excited yet?

Ok I have been lurking for a long time and I think I have maybe one post on this site. We always had yamaha when I was younger. I eventually switched to cat for the last 7 or 8 years, and drag raced them for the last 2 or so. Well, Im back to owning a yamaha. I realize its not a 2 stroke, but Im just as excited for winter as the next guy lol. Its an 05 rx1. I will be making a couple changes, like getting rid of that super heavy track on it to something a little more suitable for ice. Im sure somebody on here knows who used to own this sled. Im on the fence about painting it because I like the way it looks, but at the same time I dont want to hear hey wasnt that so and so's sled 500 times this winter. Im hoping to run 140 in 660' with it. It has before but it will be setup a little different so Im hoping it will still pull that mph... I would also like to pick up a viper to run in an improved 700 class. Probably wont happen this year, maybe next fall.

pulled mine out for the first time in 2 years. Poor thing. Been going through all the wiring making sure nothing got chewed up. Prob pull the ohlins off and send them over to pioneer. winter has been crap here for the last few years...finally had a somewhat decent winter and was to busy with our new house. Hopefully Ill be able to ride this year.

Here's my "to do" list:

-Boss seat (and custom tail light?)
-Cat skid and track swap
-Front shock revalve
-Tunnel extension
-SRX rear cooler
-Torque limiter
-New driveshaft and jackshaft bearings
-Opticool head gasket
-PV +carb cleaning
-Reverse and e-start (maybe if I have time)
 
leaves are changing,how about leaves are falling on the ground already here.Still in the hot temps which I am getting sick of.Talk of early Winter here..I hope.Guys at work say that I am nuts thinking of snow..I said I can't wait for the first snowstorm..

I can't relate to that...i work with a lot of guys who hate the snow & cold! They don't like it when I say "I can't wait for the snow". Sometimes I tell them I wish it was a way of life...then you should see their faces!

I know the face you mean, I see it almost everyday when I say Im wishing for snow ha! Leaves are changing, Im hoping for another good winter up here, last year we had at least 2.5 feet of snow on the ground from beginning of Dec until mid march.

I just have to put the phazer back together, and replace the rivets in my 97's loose trailing arm bracket (PITA!). I have to stop myself from going out and starting all the time, but I cant get enough of the sound and smell...
 
I'm keeping busy riding my bike and 4-wheeler now. I'm also getting ready for bow season. When bow season is over I'll go through my Viper and get it ready for this winter. I'm looking forward to a full season with this machine after only putting 300 miles on it last year.
 
man i have had so much going on lately i haven't had any time for the sleds! got to get ready for hunting season first!!!
 
hopefully it will get here quick! im planning on doing some modifications first though. some powder coating, and a porting job by Mr Viper if all goes well :D
 
They are calling for a cold & average to above average winter for ontario. I need to put on the new track, fix the speedo, fix the brake light, put the e-brake back on, weld the steering column, and give her a good cleaning!
