I ended up buying a rear exchanger for a mountain viper and am thinking it's not going to work. Anyway I can make it work, or should I just sell it and get the correct one?

If you have a standard viper, you would be better off running the other style cooler. It will mount in your tunnel better and it is also has a much larger volume than the mtn style which would give you better cooling.

The 04 S I recently picked up just has the cross over tube in the rear. I have ben told I should put the Mtn style cooler in as its ben taken to 144" I haven't figured out which route I am going to go as I already have a couple rear coolers from standard SRX's.

All depends

If your sled is a shorty you should definately sell it and get the regular SRX style cooler. If a sled is extended you should use a mtn viper cooler.

X2. Maybe look for someone like devil and trade the mtn cooler for the SRX cooler?

Yup

I would think the mtn ones would be in higher demand simply because they are more rare. There must be someone out ther looking to extend their viper or SRX that has the correct OEM "rivet right in" cooler you need.
