Exciter secondary grease?

My 87 exciter secondary clutch has grease in the bushing and it seems to get out and creates a mess! Is it really nessessary to put grease in there?

No grease. But you can you Dry Lube, Comes in a spray can. Clean out the grease with brake cleaner first.
