1 ply or 2 ply track

1 ply track will be lighter than 2 ply, thus it will be faster. other side of that coin is that a 1 ply is not as durable as a 2ply ie it will come apart in certain conditions faster than the 2 ply.

I run 2 ply as I like them to last as long as possible.
 
You will need new drive sprockets on your sleigh of you get a 1 ply track. Different pitch. 1 ply tracks are a few pounds lighter. Honestly you probably wont notice it, your sled will roll more freely. As far as durability, nothing lasts forever. Be mindful in low snow condition.

Look at the windows; a 1 ply will have one layer of fabric and a 2-ply will have 2 layers of fabric (with rubber inbetween the two layers).

Sometimes you can see this from the sides as well, if the edges aren't capped.

Most of the strength of a track comes from the fabric, not the rubber.
 
My SRX had a cheaper Kimpex Energy 1 ply track on it when I got it a few years ago. It is clipped every third window and I DO believe it helps retain snow for the sliders. I have never felt it heat up and slowdown from low snow.
It hooks up well and it is lasting well. Overall speed is faster then my last srx with the stock track.
