Buddy of mine had the end of his crank snap off on his srx. He found a good deal on a Hauck built sx700 motor with carbs and pipes. Is there anyway this would work in an srx or would you need the wire harness.

PIPES WON,T FIT SRX. 3:16 (yammie tony)
cdi is differnt, pipes wont fit chassis, motor mounts are differnt,cooling system is differnt hook up for top. All in all, i would say "No"
I realize some guys cant accept no and will work around all the other stuff to make it fir, but at some point your time has got to be worth somthing to you and in the end the time needed to just replace the crank in the srx will have been way less then that to swap over.

Thanks for the feedback. Kind of what I was thinking. What are your guys thoughts on a good used original crank vs a rebuilt. Once they are pressed apart to be repaired then back together are they ever as true? Also, can you just press a new end on his current crank?

ever as true?? they are built in a mass production assembly line, so if anything they are more true when a aftermarket company services them. The crank must be retrued after replacing the end. The factory just has a window in which the crank can be in as far as run out, the aftermarkets window is alot less then the mass production is.
Send it out and have the end replaced , youll be in far better shape. Most all companys weld the cranks pins after service/trueing nowadays when done so they hold the spec.

Thanks for the feedback. The crank that broke was a freshly rebuilt so I thought that possibly it was out of spec which caused crank to break.
