pogo toe question

ok guys here is the situation, I put viper skis on my et410 and now need to set the toe in. the only thread I found on pogo toe in assumed all components are new tight. mine is as tight as it is going to get as it is shimmed tight but there is still a noticeable amount of play. I plan on setting it 1/8-1/4" toed out. now should I put the bungee cord on the loops or the tail of the skis?
 
Good question! Ive always wondered the same thing considering Ive never owned a sled that didnt have play in the skiis.
 
well I know on a new sled you put it on the loops but suspension is prone to play in different areas than new ones.

glad to see I stumped someone else as well.
 
I guess I would put it on the loops. I usually set the toe out on my sleds by toeing them in then adjust them to where they need to be. Effectively doing the same as having a bungee on the loops. (Friction of the carbides on the concrete floor). I haven't ridden the TSS swapped SS 440 yet which will have Apex skis, but my XLV has very good trail manners this way (had Viper skis on it then, SRX mountain now, both handle well but the SRX skis dart a little less). Darting is at a minimum even with a little play. Both machines have about the same amount of slop but two different sets of skis between the two. I always set my toe out at 3/16".

setting the toe with a bungee on the loops would be best ......set between 1/16'' to 1/4'' ...........this will make it ride the best .......as far a the shim kits go they are a waist as shimming does not do anything as the problem resides in the collars and bushings in the scissors if you put all new bushings and collars in and same goes for the ski bushing and collar they will be nice and tight again ........at this point set the toe at 0- 3/16'' toe out
 
well I did some measuring last night. there is 1/2" of slop in my tss scissors wether the bungee is at the lops or on the tail of the skis. I am going to set it to 1/8" toe out with the bungee on the back to simulate driving ahead in snow.
 
ok update. a bit late but it tracks perfectly straight and with the new sr viper skis on it with a ripsaw, it is awsome.
