OFSC Trail Pass Jumps!!

We did get out in late March for a bit after Family day opening. But it was limited at best south of Madoc and better further north with just enough to ride on but no real base at all. Most of the time it was around freezing (not cold enough to keep it). Even 30k south of Bancroft it wasn't great but ride able. I don't remember what the trail rating was though when we did ride. We drove and trailered to the southern trail head north of Belleville and dodged bare gravel and dirt patches for quite a way until at least Hwy 7 where is improved. We did that several weekends and it was pretty much the same each time. Looking at the map conditions there was knowhere else to go any better unless you were at least at Bancroft or way over into the Georgian bay area somewhere.

Stuck with the classic srx just for the cheaper trail pass.
We had some good riding around Owen Sound last year, but you were covering the same trails over and over.
Looking back I think we had about 160sq. km area. Every time we wandered outside of that our equipment and backs took a beating. FUN?? heck ya. But then again, it was my first year back in awhile.
All new idlers, bearings, sliders and front "arm to rail brackets" because of the poor conditions.

Well you were some of the lucky ones up there. I kept hearing about some areas but they rarely showed Green on the maps only yellow.

I notice the OFSC is really pushing for people to buy passes early. I hear it on the radio and get emails to leap onto the savings. They must be hard up for funds. I am not surprised with the hikes every year for us Ontario riders.

It use to be a recreational sport but turned into big business when they took over the passes that clubs managed. Although they seem to be unable to gouged us sufficiently despite the higher rates. I am sure each year there are much fewer passes sold. Why? Its gotten too expensive for a few weekends of riding if we're lucky. If the passes would be much cheaper there would be more people buying them in the even they wanted go on them for a ride.

I'll just stick to unofficial trails/roads until otherwise driven to actually used them.
