Old sxr needs some tlc

I have a 99 SXR with around 8xxx miles on it. The sled has some mods Geared, clutched, pipe, and maybe has reeds on it. All the work was done to the sled when I got it two years ago. I went through all the bearings and bushings as soon as I got the sled and that's about all ive done. My question is where to go next. I need front shocks bad they are all the way sprung up and have little to offer anymore. The clutches are aftermarket but do they need to be gone through as I have no idea how many miles they have on them? Water pump seals? Stator? Let me know where some of you guys would start with this sled.
 
Forgot to mention, heat exchanger leaks some where, front radius rods and proacation arms are busted. Not sure if the tunnels is warped either. I can get a whole chassis for 500 from a snowmobile salvage yard, considering transferring parts from mine to the new one.
 
Not sure what the chassis comes with im going to check it out this week. I know it comes with a hood and the front suspension. Not sure about the rear skid or a set but both of mine are good in the current sled I have.
 
I just called the salvage place and they said its basically a complete sled that doesn't run and has a blown motor.
 
That's what I was thinking, depending on the mileage of the other motor I may swap the stator and water pump seals if I can get them out with no issues.
 
I just did the stator on my sled, the screws that hold the stator inplace can be tough to get out with a regular screwdriver, I used an impact driver on mine.
 
yea that's how ive done it in the past too, just trying to get the sled nice and reliable again hopefully what im doing here will help out a lot.
 
The front shocks can be rebuilt pretty reasonably. Find a good welder for the w-arm, once it's repaired it will probably have to be looked every year. There are some write-ups about reinforcing them. If you have access to a press you can probably straighten the radius rods, if they aren't bent to bad. They are hard to keep straight, I put new lower ones on a couple years ago, and bent one the first ride...
