vmax 600 struggling.

You can wake yours up cheaply thought. There is also a head gasket mod but with the quality of fuel the last few years I would not recommend it unless your an expierenced tuner.

X2. I did not do the head gasket mod for this very reason.

Cory I think this would be a good mod for you. Also a simple clutch kit. Did you check out the tech section for set ups yet. Or do a search on 600 twin clutching. Lots of good old posts about getting the most from these twins.
thanks for all that info. i plan on getting a clutch kit but i dont know who to go with for parts. i like the idea of heel clicker being the hardest grabbing but i heard it likes to break clutch components. im sure when i get my knew track it will def wake this thing up.

i am running a stock track with a little over 1/2 inch of lug left with 190 somthing studs. i want to go to a 1 1/4 with 96 studs. or maybe no studs because of the added weight. my riding style with this sled is just playing around ya know plowing through drifts and jumping on the ice.

im not too worried about getting traction on the ice because when im on the water im usually just cruising 30-40 mph, not trying to see who can go 100 before hitting a chunk of ice and rolling lol.

im just trying to set this sled up to be snappy on the low to mid. like i posted in another thread i have a trail sled and it is used just for that, going a decent speed and enjoying the ride. i used to be a huge cat fan until they start breaking down. the reason i like cats so much was i could hop on and damn near flip the thing over backwards if i wanted too lol.

i finally got the ac suspension under the sled 2 days ago and i made drop brackets so its sits roughly as high as a 2000+ zr. i took it for a grass run yesterday and that was the best 20$ i think i spent on this lol.

The best would be to try to find a used helix and weights in the classifieds but springs I would go with new.

im not new to 2 stroke engines in anyway, i studied alot of theories and concepts in school. but the whole clutching thing is like a new language. like would i want a very low engagement speed ith a fast shifting secondary or whatever. i dont know anything about that, becuase i dont know what rpm this engine signs on and off on the torque and power band. like one of my drag bikes i could easily guess the ball parck on what gearing and tires to start with because let say the bike started making torque at 3000rpm and its power at 5500 rpm but peaked at 10500 and flat lined 11000.

They are not the easiest on fuel so I wouldn't gear down. There is set ups in the tech section otherwise I have a few set ups of my own.I use grass drag the twins and trail ride.

another question, i want to gget these cylinders ported. who do you guys reccomend. should i go with a light trail like porting or would a race port be the only thing worth the dollar? like i said i dont know how a engine with this type of drive line acts with its power ranges.
