1st year (maybe two) ET 250 had a 2.52 track as did all long track versions of the ET's. The shafts are square. Drivers can be had to convert to 2.52 from Yamaha or after market but availablility from either may be a problem. The ET 300 skid won't work with any track still available (that I know of) that has 2.52 pitch. The original ET 300 track was used on all years of the 300, all years of the 250 (with exception of the 1st one or two) and all Inviters. The Inviter is the newest sled that used that track and may be the best route to finding a good used one. Bravo's, 340 ET's, Ovations' etc were all different.
I loved the 300 and to me the short track was a big part of how much fun it was to play on. 340 ET's had a little more power but were not as nimble with the longer track. Long track versions were mostly utility sleds.
I would try to get the right one unless you are in need of a sled more suited to utility work.
