Still not running right.....

Which gaskets are you speaking off? I have always ben careful and re-used them. I have had to replace O rings due to cracking, some say you can smear silicone on them and be ok (? don't know as never tried) Pulling cable manually is actually the right way, I haven't ever removed from servo for cleaning if I am following what your saying. You should adjust them as well, How to in the tech section. As far as pulling the floats I have to say you really should do this, that could the root of your problems. I used to use needle nose pliers to force that pin out with a lot of effort. Picked up the "auto punch" or "spring loaded punch" and WOW! Put the pointed end on that pin and give her a little push....HAVE HAD A FEW FLY A FEW FEET they came out so quick! WAY EASIER!
 

The gaskets I'm talking about are the ones that go between the cylinder and spring housing (4 allen head bolts). There is no possible way to re use them....they tore when pulling them off

Woops sorry that it looks like i edited you post, still getting used to new site. Those powervalve gaskets are metal, how did they tear??
 
I have often made my own gaskets for the power valve section. Most automotive parts dealers sell gasket material of various thicknesses in sheet form. I use 0.030" thick material and can crank out a dozen gaskets in 10 min.. Nothing special about this gasket. The exterior of the power valve housings get oily from exhaust leakage with old, cracked or missing gaskets.

Also, did you take the jets out of the carbs to clean them then clean the passgaes in the carbs with the jets out? I bought a small ultrasonic cleaner to immerse the carb parts in a tank of carb cleaner to shake the grunge out of them. Works great although the cleaning tanks was a few hundred bucks ( I ahve a LOT of carbs to maintain also told the wife i would use it to clean her jewelry, ha).

x2 on the auto punch for the float pins. $10 and available at most autoparts counters, home depot and such.
Apply the tip to the pin and push down by hand. Do it over a shop towel.

Yes I was thinking of using gasket material and cutting too....probably want a crazy amount for 3 little gaskets anyway

I already have the carbs back on. I'm gonna fire it up hopefully tonight to see if it is working better....if not than I will invest in one of these punches and take them back off to do that. I'm getting pretty good at taking them off lol.
 
Well I've pretty much given up trying to fix my Viper. Cleaned the carbs (again) and power valves ( power valves had very little carbon build up). I called a former Yamaha mechanic tonight that now does work on the side to make an appointment. The only other thing he mentioned is that maybe my servo motor is not opening the power valves but when he gets it working I will let ya know what the problem was.
 
With all that said I wonder if your choke wasn't adjusted properly. Maybe it was drowning your machine at the top end? Did your plugs ever look wet? After you instal the carb bank you have to adjust the throttle lever free play before the oil cable. Then I usually adjust the choke cable last. But when I do that I always watch to make sure the plungers go to their full resting position on the side of the carbs when the choke is off. Not sure if this is it but I suppose the yamaha mech will figure it out. I just figured this may be a possibility and an inexpensive fix. I'm interested to see what he finds.
 
I adjusted the choke properly. Time will tell what the problem is. Too bad all the snow here melted away in the last couple days or else I would try it but it still doesn't sound right to me.
